
This is my mother's banjo, which I borrowed to learn on. I played several hours a day, determined to master it, listening to old recordings of Wade Ward, Roscoe Holcomb, and fine local players such as Pamela Brown and Bobbie Thomas. All I could think of was to make wonderful sounds come out of it. I never dreamed that one day I'd record an album of banjo music, and become a banjo teacher.
