The World Wide Web is not just for people, it is for bloodsucking capitalists and monolithic bureacratic monsters too. We blood sucking capitalists (slurp, slurp) get our say too. In the course of my mis-spent youth (that's all of my life so far -- I have an extended concept of youth) I have created two companies, True Software and the Concord Research Institute. True Software (Formerly Software Maintenance and Development Systems) developed and markets the Aide-de-Camp (TM) software configuration management system. The Concord Research Institute does advanced software research and development.

The world wide web is not just for the big boys. There are all sorts of small companies that do business through the net. Some are specialty shops, some are shakey and flakey, and some are down right dubious.

The advent of the PC has made Microsoft a corporate giant and Bill Gates a very rich man. Microsoft produces operating systems and related software for the PC. Said software isn't as user friendly as software for the MAC; it isn't as intellectually coherent as UNIX; but it sure does sell. Over the years Microsoft has been the target of gibes by the nerd herd; Microsoft humor is a humor category in its own right.
