The two of you sneak out after hours and roam the city. The school is not far from an area of the city called the floating pleasure world. There are taverns, street entertainers, vendors of finger food, shows, and brothels. There are bright lanterns everywhere, casting weird shadows that people move in and out of. You have never seen anything like it; it is all very exciting.

The first time that you sneak out you do nothing but wander around and look at things. Several times men approach the pair of you. You have no fear of that. Back at the camp young men flirted with you all of the time. You were skilled at brushing them off. What you do not realise is that soldiers dared not harm the general's daughter.

The second time you sneak out you go into a tavern. Some young men try to sit with you; they make rude remarks when you tell them to get lost. An older man comes over to protect the pair of you. He is older, but good looking, and he has no difficulty getting the young men to leave you alone. He sits at your table and orders drinks for you. The pair of you sip your drinks and chat with him. He seems very nice.

When you awake you find yourself in a brothel. The drinks were drugged, and your protector was really a brothel master. You are forced to become a flower girl in the brothel. You try to run away but you are caught and beaten. Finally your spirit is broken and you accept whatever happens to you without caring. Without the will to live you do not last long.
