Your husband's rise is rapid and he soon becomes a great man in the Empire. He makes many enemies though, enemies he would not have made had you but been there to help him. The time comes when his enemies combine and bring him down. In his ruin you and your children barely escape with your lives. You have taught your children well, teaching them both honor and wisdom. They are wise enough to avoid careers in the civil service, where their father's enemies await them. Instead they seek religious careers. There your teaching serves them well, and they become great reformers. You end your days proud of your children, but lamenting the loss of your husband. You die, never quite sure whether you did the right thing.
