You are wise not to plot against the heir. The Emperor's secret police woud have easily detected your plotting. In time the Emperor passes on to his next life and his incompetent heir assumes the throne. His reign is a disaster. Provinces are lost to the barbarians; famine and plague stalk the land; and the public works are not maintained. Your husband would have been a much better Emperor, but it was not to be in this time of trouble.
