Many eunuchs in the general staff are staff officers who never hold fighting commands. However you have a great talent for conducting war against the barbarians; you rise high in the ranks until you are one of the chief generals.

One of the outer provinces has been overrun by barbarians. It once held the the capital of the Empire but that was long ago and the province has declined in importance. The Emperor feels that it is time to reclaim the province from the barbarians. You disagree; the barbarians are stronger and better organized than the Emperor is willing to admit, and the Empire is weaker that he recognizes. None-the-less the Emperor wants you to try to reclaim the province. Will you do as he requests or will you resign in protest?
