You are a great heiress; many nobles would marry you for the sake of your father's lands. Your father searches hard for candidates that would be acceptable to both you and him. He finds two.

One is the younger son of a neighbouring noble whose lands adjoins those of your father. You know him well; he was a playmate of your childhood. He would take over your lands upon your father's decease. Your family and his could work quietly together to improve affairs in the Empire as best you could.

The other is the fourth son of the Emperor. He is not likely to inherit the throne; however he has many merits in your eyes. Unlike the Emperor and most of the Imperial Princes, he is modest and studious, and is possessed of a desire to do good. If you marry him you could do much good, but you would be uncomfortably close to the corruption of the Imperium.

Both young men are well featured, and both would make good husbands. Which will you choose?
