The previous owner had removed the mildewy gaucho, and opened up the
walls to try
and get the stink out.

I built a wooden platform to fit, and cut down a single sized futon .
This would make a bed for one person, it was comfortable to sit on.
When you eat , one person sits on the sofa and another on a chair

This is my cute aluminum chair. Nice, but really there is no room to
sit there comfortably.
At least not for me....

Some sofa details, including a very attractive end table, with door.
At the International in VT, I went in a lot of trailers, new and old,
and decided I wanted a dinette instead.
This is a 1973 Tradewind dinette. It seats 4 and becomes a double bed.
I didn't want to lose the floor space. Also this layout had no storage
behind the seats.
And even worse, the access to the storage under the seats is through
tambours that you have
to get under the table to access.
So
.

I took down the existing table, trimmed the back piece, and hung it
under the
front window.
The paper on the floor is a paper template .

A little background.
I went to buy a mirror for the bathroom from Peter Count. He was
gutting a '73 31 footer.
I actually paid for the mirror, and then he loaded up my truck
with the rest of the
guts. So I got his credenza, and a great pile of bits and
pieces.
In this picture, you can see the bits and pieces being pop
riveted together..
The back is a piece of luan.
And so is the seat.
The design idea is to make it look as though it is original. That
way it will be as light as possible.
Here is the tambour door, that
you can actually get to. If I get bigger and more batteries, they
can live in here
.
Here is Tinker, the Jack Russell checking it out.
The cushions are fairly dense foam so that they can be thinner.
This is Hunter's Border Collie, Brady. He liked the sofa better.

This is the credenza from the 31footer. I cut about 2 feet off the
right side of the top.
The opening to the right is where the table would go.
The tambour that came with it works ! ( After a lot of cleaning
and sealing the edges)
The smaller cabinet to the right is
all there was for storage on my original credenza.
