Spike R. MacPhee's HomeWorld(s)

[Many links still have to be updated.] I am updating these pages again as of Dec 25, 2002 - 12/29/02 the first update was posting Russell Martin's Man-Kzin timeline version 2. Next projex are rescanning in the LunaEarth SF Art Gallery images, and collecting all the current moonbase, lunar colonization, and moon/luna related pages on the EarthWeb. The Moon In Science Fiction is a quick start on Lunar fiction. LunaWeb does not [yet] exist...

Welcome to the online homestation of Spike R. MacPhee, spiker#tiac.net[you'll have to change this and paste it to email me - an antispam precaution], a place of learning, commerce and diplomacy for humans and aliens alike... <*>

... And here's how the human race journeyed to Luna
the first time - the Apollo 8 TransLunar Injection burn,
TLI One [moonship Apollo 8 high above the Hawai'ian Islands, lighting its engine, bound for Luna].
The humans' moonship Apollo 8, 185 kms above the Hawai'ian Islands,
lighting its third stage engine, bound for Luna,
Dec 21st, 1968, from a painting
I commissioned from Rick Sternbach in 1974.

Here's a 125% enlargement from the final version, showing the nightlights of the Hawai'ian Islands and the S-IVB third stage engine exhaust gases lit by the sun. Apollo 8 is the tiny point of light at the tip of the white thousand-mile long triangular exhaust cone.
