==Here are four Known Space Chronologies:

• Russell Martin's well-researched Known Space Man-Kzin Wars Timeline 2.0 written in August 1999. It has spoilers but starts with spoiler protection space. His listing of the Man-Kzin stories sequence with no spoilers is at the MKW Story Bibliographical Page above.
• L. Marc Carlson's 7/27/96 revision of his extensive Known Space Timeline with some additional material by Richard S. Holmes. It also has spoilers.
• Richard S. Holmes' older Known Space Timeline.
• The original Known Space Timeline by Spike R. MacPhee and Jerry Boyajian was expanded 50% by a flatlander with a symmetrical beard named Larry Niven and published in Tales of Known Space in 1975. [I'm planning to relocate my original typed version that we sent Larry and put them on here to show what we left out that Niven added, like civil rights for cetaceans. - Spike]

"Here's a bit of a hint for your Man-Kzin Wars timeline positioning...

I wrote 'Prisoner of War' with the intent of making it the very last story
in the series - the end of the wars.  Both Fleet Commander and Chraz-Captain
are clearly kzin who have evolved a long way from 'Scream and leap' ->
although a point I try to make in the story is that maybe its more than
simple evolution that has been driving this behaviour on the the part of the
kzinti.

Regardless, Donald Kingsbury and I never actually nailed down a date - so
the story COULD be construed lie between any two MK conflicts after the
introduction of hyperdrive.  There are some technical inconsistancies in
Known Space, the MKW series and (shudder) my story that would allow one to
fit just about as well as another.

But you've put it at the end, which is where I think it's meant to be.  :)

If you're interested I've got excerpts from PoW and my other work on my
homepage.  Any Day Now I'll have an excerpt from my next MKW story (which,
if I am reading the entrails correctly, should be out in MK VIII, depending
on the vagaries of the publishing gods).  It will be the first story in the
MKW chronology, by a wide, wide margin.  I hope you like it."
